Jake Nimlos

Founder & Financial Advisor

Jake Nimlos grew up in Missoula where he enjoyed all the amenities the beautiful Missoula valley has to offer. His grandfather was a professor at the University of Montana making the entire family Grizzly fans.

Jake has a portfolio with experience owning and operating multiple companies across different industries including hospitality, nutrition, recruitment, real estate, finance and insurance. However, Jake's passion has always been finance which brought him back to Missoula to open Nimlos Financial Group in order to help clients achieve financial clarity by breaking down the pitfalls of traditional planning.
Being inspired by his grandfather to make a difference in the community, Jake started the Thomas Nimlos Memorial Scholarship with the University of Montana in 2019. Jake is also an active member of Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce. He spends his free time with his family including three children and two golden doodles puppies.

Tom Kerr, CFA

Chief Wealth Officer & Financial Advisor

Tom Kerr has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years. He most recently worked as a Senior Investment Specialist at WestPac Wealth Partners in Missoula, MT. Prior to that he was Chief Investment Officer and Director of Research of SGL Investment Advisors. He was principal owner of Rocky Peak Capital Management where he managed the Rocky Peak Smallcap Value mutual fund. He was also a Portfolio Manager and Equity Analyst for a $4 billion investment firm in Los Angeles, CA. There he was the co-manager of the Smallcap Value strategy and RCB Smallcap Value Mutual Fund as well an Equity Analyst covering consumer products, business services, retail and media industries. At RCB he was instrumental in developing an innovative and original research process and investment philosophy for the firm. Prior to that he was a financial analyst at a large international bank as well as at one of the world's largest corporations.

Mr. Kerr has also been a contributing writer to TheStreet.com, TipRanks.com and InvestorPlace.com. Mr. Kerr is a CFA charterholder and obtained a B.B.A in Finance from Texas Tech University. He serves on the boards of CASA of Missoula and the Montana State Parks Foundation. He is also a member of the Montana Snowbowl Volunteer Ski Patrol.

Amber Van Blarigan

Insurance / Financial Services

Amber Van Blarigan, grew up in the Central Coast of California enjoying the pristine beaches and Santa Lucia Mountain Range. Eventually finishing her education in San Luis Obispo before working in the wine industry in Santa Barbara where she met her husband and became a mother of two boys. They made the move to Lake Tahoe where she started her career in the insurance industry.
Currently she has expanded her portfolio to further help individuals and families find solutions to their insurance needs. Amber finds her passion in walking people through their everyday life while helping prepare them for financial success in their retirement for themselves and loved ones. Answering the difficult questions with compassion and understanding.

She is an active member in the community and enjoys her time working with the Chamber of Commerce through the Red Coats. In her free time you can find her enjoying all things outdoors with her family and their German Shepherd puppy.

Shannell Blanken

Financial Representative

Shannell Blanken grew up throughout the beautiful state of Montana, spending time in Butte, Billings, Great Falls, Helena, Montana City, and in the Bitterroot. Following her parent's footsteps, she enlisted in the Montana Air National Guard in 2011, where she later met her husband.

Shannell followed her enthusiasm for investing and money management by attaining her bachelor's degree in finance at the University of Montana in Missoula. She is motivated by her devotion to supporting her Montana community members and has a genuine love for what she does.

Shannell focuses on her individual client's needs, goals, and reality to assist them in their financial success. Her distinctive combination of education, ethics, integrity, and service before self means that she always puts the client's best interests first.

Ginger Sewell

Administrative Assistant

Ginger has a lengthy career in various office environments where she has offered technically skilled administrative support to professionals across multiple industries. She is valued for multitasking strengths, organizational abilities and diplomatic handling of confidential information. Ginger has advanced knowledge of common office and investment-based software and processes. She has been a loyal and resourceful professional in every past position and is known for commitment to exceeding employer expectations.

Ginger is a lifelong Montanan who enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family, friends and various pets.
